ARTWORK

PAINTING:

I have come back to painting time and again over the years, exhibiting all over Cornwall and once or twice in London and Bristol and Brighton too. I completed a Btec in General Art & Design at Falmouth college of Art in 1987, and then went on to do a B.A in Visual & Performing Arts at Brighton. I graduated in 1995 with a 2/1, after which I completed the Merbird collection.

DESIGN & MAKING

I have excellent making skills and a great eye for design. I began my career with a Puppet show, which I designed and created myself in 1990: THE PINK ELEPHANT PUPPET THEATRE. Then after studying theatre and Circus-theatre at the Hub theatre school Cornwall 1987, & at The Fooltime Academy Bristol in 1991-1992, I went on to make, puppets and props for several professional companies. I have also worked with children of all ages. THUMBS-UP CLUB

ANIMATION

I began animating with a Super8 camera and cells in 1994. I did some work experience with Aardman Animations in Bristol at this time and have been fascinated ever since. I then went onto explore digital animations on the N.C.F.E course in Advanced Multi-media at Truro college (2002). Currently I’m using Aftereffects, but I still love the hands on moving of models and objects!

STORYBOARD

I draw fast and well, but prefer the loose creative to the graphic. I’m fully informed on film shots, and camera angles. So I could work closely with a Director or D.O.P. I have been making my own storyboards since I began to work with film in 1994. I did an N.C.F.E in Video production at Truro College in 2002 and I completed an M.A in Television Production at University College Falmouth in 2006.
